]]>杜拜的珠寶品牌Mona Ibrahim 與藝術家ebon heath 連手設計多款皮革飾
Dubai based jewelry designer Mona Ibrahim has teamed up with up-and-coming New York based graphic designer Ebon Heath to bring us this absolutely dope creation. The concept is so simple, yet so ingenious: the collection consists of laser cut leather that is worn as a cuff or a flexible to wrap or buckle around a wrist, neck, or waste. The leather bracelets reveal the skin through the cut out shapes and the layering creates patterns of letter lace. The collection was produced utilizing local resources within Dubai.
The jewelry is an extension of Ebon Heath’s stereo.type project which explores the synthesis between typography and the physicality of our bodies and is truly a meaningful collection of typographic jewelry that transcends the traditional. And just like when BryanBoy gets excited anytime the Philippines is mentioned in the world of Fashion, I feel the same sense of achievement when Pakistan or Urdu is brought up, so imagine my delight to find out that come December 2009, Urdu will be added to the collection, and the jewelry will be launched in Pakistan?

]]>像花又像煙火般盛開的文字讓原本平面的文字變成立體，仔細看 Ebon Heath 的作品中充滿了來自世界各地的文字元素當然也包含中文字。
看到這些作品又讓我聯想到中國的剪紙藝術及先前介紹過的日本藝術家福井利佐的剪紙藝術 ，立體化之後也許又會是不錯的文創品。

Evian water is taking their babies campaign further with a set of complementary print ads.
My mind is BLOWN. I’m not a wine drinker but I have lots of friends who swear by it. Let’s call them winards. The Light Sommelier interactive light is so urber cool, even my winard friends would enjoy it. The action of turning and dimming lights is transposed into wine drinking gestures. As the bottle tips into the glass, the glass lights up. As you tip the glass over, the light dims. You can even vary the intensity by how much wine you “pour”. All done with simple proximity detectors and gyros. Loves it. Happy Monday.
I’m talking about Queen, the pop star Lady, and everyone in between! That’s right, stumble upon the middles of music. That’s what this project is all about, the finding of new things through happy accidents and utterly excellent analog instruments. It’s the “Radio Ball” and it means to take you back to a time when finding your favorite tune meant searching through radio stations, one after another. Along the way you might find what you need isn’t always what you were looking for.
This is the Radio Ball. Spin it, flip it, bop it. Make it do what you want to do to it, and find a magical blend of static and radio music. Turn it over to turn it on, spin it on it’s butt to turn it up or down.
Once you’ve found a station you love, mark it with a stanard-size plug that fits right into the honeycomb of the ball. You can go back to it whenever you wish by flipping the ball back over to that stopper, as each comb acts a platform for flat standing when you want to listen to a straight up song.
And for when you want to go wild- just roll it!
微軟預計於2010年11月(或聖誕節之前)推出其XBOX 360的殺手級武器「Project Natal」，其單價約為US$80 (參考)。其實早在今年2009 CES與E3展時，微軟就已展示過它的原型機了，之所以要等到2010年底前才正式發售，我想微軟應該是在等更多支援「Project Natal」的遊戲吧？！那麼，到底「Project Natal」是個什麼樣的東西？
它是一個全新玩電腦遊戲的「人機介面」，完全顛覆過去需要使用操縱遙桿的行為模式。舉個例子，各位都知道任天堂的Wii遊戲機，它是由兩支遙桿的操縱來表達玩者的手勢、力道與方向，進而可以與遊戲完全溶入並打成一片。那麼，微軟這個「Project Natal」更厲害，它可以完全取代Wii的兩支遙桿；只要玩者站在其前方比手勢，就可以與XBOX 360的遊戲互動起來，根本無需再兩手握著遙桿來玩遊戲了。各位一定會很好奇，這麼神奇的功能，「Project Natal」是如何辦到的？
其實「Project Natal」使用了一個叫作「ZCam」的Motion-Detection (或是Gesture Recognition)技術，這個革命性的技術是由一家以色列3DV Systems公司所開發出來的，微軟係花了3,500萬美元投資這家公司而間接擁有這個技術。「ZCam」使用了便宜又簡單的加速度計(Accelerometers)與紅外線技術，就可以取得目標物體的深度圖(Depth Map)，經由軟體的運算來判斷其力道(Depth Map變換速度)、遠近(Depth Map的深淺度)與方向，從而可以操縱遊戲的進行。
這種可以辨識手勢(Gesture)的技術，除了ZCam (3DV Systems公司)之外，尚有其他公司(如PrimeSense、Canesta、Softkinetic)也是使用Depth Camera的技術。看來Depth Map不僅可以應用在「2D轉3D」的技術，而且還可以用來取代遊戲搖桿，甚至於可以模擬Windows 7的多觸點螢幕的操作。
